Decisions...decisions...

I've been thinking about video taping me singing a song and putting it on youtube! Haha, bet most of you out there didn't know that! But, yeah, I've actually been considering it for a long time bec. I can play a few songs and think it would be fun to do so, however, I am I bit uncertain about the whole thing. My parents think it would be cool--Nathan and Michael have no comment (I suppose for their own safety)--but I'm not sure I want to. I mean, I want to, but then the inevitable would happen: people would watch it! And I'm not sure I want them to. lol. Don't you love my reasoning?
I know, the whole purpose of putting something on youtube is for people to watch it, so I'll quit being weird and move on. I have already tapped myself singing a Sanctus Real song: "I Love You" and it's okay...My vocals aren't outstanding and the guitar in that song is REALLY basic...so it's not that great.
I also wrote a pretty good song the other day! Amazing, yeah?? :P Well, I've been writing songs on and off since I started playing guitar (over 2 years) but the one I've been working on for the past week has been....well....better....since there is more technique in it and there is actually a chorus, bridge, and verses...Usually I only have a verse and, occasionally, a chorus: so you can see what I mean when I say my best so far..hahaha. The song is mainly about trusting in God, leaning on His promises, and going to Him in times of trouble---it sounds deep but don't get your expectations up... :)
Post comments! Do you think I should post a song on youtube?? =/
Haha, my mom just told me to sit up straight! For those of you who aren't around me often, I have a major slouching problem (it's pretty bad....) and I've been trying to fix it...really, I've been reminding myself to sit up straight, but it's really hard to do...especially when I'm lazy. haha. But I think playing guitar has something to do with it because I am slouching really bad whenever I play! Anyway, this post is long enough, eh?

GUITARS!

Lately I've been looking at electric-acoustic guitars. They are acoustic guitars that can be played regularly, but you can also have the option of plugging them in to amplify the sound, etc.
They are a bit expensive, however...especially the good ones :P duh...but, yeah, I've checked out a few at stores and on the internet. I haven't yet discovered which one I want. I'm leaning towards the brand Ibanez, if any of you know about guitars...but it's not a very expensive brand, generally...It can be pretty reasonable. Yet, after looking at guitars for so long you just can't decided and I ended up being like: "I want them all!!!" Because I really can't make a decision.

I want to find out information on certain kinds and see what people say about them: sound quality, size, shape, etc. and that does help, but it's just so hard to find the exact guitar you are looking for when you don't even know what you want! I'm pretty sure it's impossible. So that's why I'm doing research *sigh* It just takes so much time, though.

But I'm not going to be buying one soon--probably in a few months after doing research and deciding. I really don't want to make an impulsive decision and then end up finding up the guitar I got isn't good, you know?

The sad thing for me is, I really care about the appearance of guitars...not so much the sound quality! lol! No, I do care about the quality, but appearance does help. Nate and I were looking up guitars the other night and I saw this really cute electric-acoustic and it had leaves on it and holes in unique places so I was like, "Oo! I want it!" And then we looked it up to find out about it and most of the people were like, "It's really bad....the size is horrible...the sound is sorta muddled....not a good guitar." But I still really liked it! Lol. Of course, Nathan is the total opposite from me. He mostly cares about the quality--so, hopefully, if we ever do get an electric- acoustic we will be able to balance both appearance with quality :P

Sorry I haven't written in a while. It's been pretty busy with school. It seems like they keep throwing tests on us and the days just seem a whole lot shorter!

My first peice for show

Perhaps you were expecting something more colorful and exciting. All I can say is: "Wahla! And sorry it's hard to see--it is a light sketch and the camera couldn't pick it up well."

Okay, well, it's not a painting--I'm afraid I haven't worked up the courage to post one of those yet, but it is a sketch: more basic, simple, and, basically, safe.

It's not very detailed...I'm afraid my sketches aren't. I'm almost positive everyone in the world can sketch this good! That is, most average people can so I'm sure no one will be amazed or think it's very good, which is fine with me. I just enjoy drawing once in a while :)

Now, back to reality. Nathan and I have been taking a video class on Friday nights. It's been fun, and a pretty good learning process: it ended last Friday. Now we have to start doing something new. I hope God gives us something to do.....

Surprisingly, as a homeschooler, there are ALOT of things we have to do! Homework takes the better part of most of our days, and our video's (for school) also take up a big chunk of our day. We also have a schedule we have to follow which has an exercise plan for us and music rules that tell us how long we have to practice everyday and with whom we have to practice, etc.

All three of us are now learning instruments, and it's been quite interesting. If you would have told me a few years ago that I was going to learn an instrument I would have not believed you! If you would have told me that all THREE of us were going to be taking up instruments I would have said, "In your dreams. I just don't see that happening."

But, it's happened, and I almost consider it a miracle because I have never been into music much and when I was younger, I had absolutely no interest in taking up a musical instrument: it was too much work! But now, I really want to learn more about guitar and piano, even though it can be pretty crazy at times because there's so much to learn and so little time! But, hey, when someone wants to do something, and they put their heart into it, they usually accomplish it. Not many things can get in a person's way when they're determined, and with all of the opportunities we have at our fingertips, I see no reason why we should try to do well in all of the different thing we can further ourselves in! We have wonderful educations, we can learn almost anything on the internet, and have no one oppressing us. It's just whether we want to apply ourselves. It's just whether we want to work, and it's just whether we get off our couches and stop being lazy! And...it's just whether the hours in a day don't run out before we achieve everything we are doing :P

Keep up the good work and don't give up--be determined!

A hint

If you haven't noticed yet, flowers are kinda my theme....

My new blog

I have started up my new blog. It's pretty nice because I can do stuff to the blog without asking. I gues some people think it was wierd we all shared a blog but it was fun for a while :)

So lately I have been painting again and now I have 4 paintings I've done. They are all protraits. I can't do lanscape at all...anyway, I was thinking I might take pictures of them and then post them on my blog for people to see--then you can really see what my paintings look like! lol. I'm not saying it will be a "pleasant surprise" but it probably will be a surprise.

I don't know if I really will, though. I might want to save myself the embarassment...you'll just have to wait and see what I do, I guess.

That'll be all for my first post, I'll talk more later!
